In Genesis 6:3 God said that His spirit would not put up with humans for such a long period of time (the people of Noah’s day lived for hundreds of years). God said that we are only mortal flesh. In the future man’s average lifespan would be 120 years. From the time of Noah to now, we’ve blown it. The life expectancy today is just under 88 years. We may live longer today that our ancestors did 100 years ago but we certainly aren’t where God intended for us to be.
